The St. Augustine Beach Pier hosts the 6th Annual Run for Peace 5K to support the Betty Griffin Center on April 13th.

This Saturday, April 13th, the 6th Annual Betty Griffin Center Run for Peace 5K will take place around St. Augustine Beach, beginning and ending at the St. Augustine Beach Pier. All proceeds from the race go to benefit The Betty Griffin Center. The Betty Griffin Center is a full service domestic and sexual abuse center located in St. Johns County. The primary purpose of the agency is to provide holistic services that directly relate to the victims’ experience of abuse which will increase safety and security for both the victim and the family.

Arbor Day celebration in the City of St. Augustine Beach

The St. Augustine Beach Tree Board and Beautification Advisory Committee assist in managing this event as part of the Cities National Tree Friendly Community Certification and National Arbor Day Celebration. This event will include a brief program, beginning with the boy scouts presenting the flag. Then, winners from the RB Hunt poster contest and Pedro Menendez High School poetry contest will be announced.

Come out to enjoy free cake and beverages, a tree give away, a meet and greet with Smokey the Bear, and face painting! Check out an interactive sea creature touch tank, live bee hive exhibit, butterflies, and all types of wildlife exhibits! Also, Boy Scout Troop 345 will be joining us to collect aluminum cans, shoes, and old electronics to recycle! Food and drinks from African Love Kitchen and Espresso Based Treats will be available for purchase.

Come out to the St. Augustine Beach Pier Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. & Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (February 16th & 17th and March 9th & 10th) for the St. Augustine Beach Arts & Crafts Festival.

This fun, free event features handmade arts and crafts by local, regional, and national artists, along with live music and lots of delicious food. The festival attracts artists and crafters from all over the country to showcase their work just steps from the beach at the St. Johns County Pier. Vacationers can enjoy browsing everything from handmade jewelry and ceramics to stained glass and fine artwork. With a variety of food and drink for sale, as well as vendors with natural plants, herbs, fruits, and veggies, the Arts and Crafts Festival is a complete experience for the whole family.

The 12th annual “Taste of the Beach”, presented by the St. Augustine Beach Civic Association, returns to the St. Augustine Beach Pier and Pier Park on Saturday, September 23rd from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  13 local restaurants will be competing in the categories of Best Appetizer, Best Entree, Best Dessert, Judges Choice, People’s Choice and Best Decorated Booth.  There will be plenty of food and beverages available by purchasing tickets at a cost of $1.00 each.  To learn more about the event click HERE. National Night Out returns to the St. Augustine Beach Pier on Tuesday, August 7th.

The National Night Out returns to the St. Augustine Beach Pier on Tuesday, August 7th from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  This fun, free family event is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.  There will be participation and demonstrations from various local law enforcement agencies, food, beverages, entertainment and much, much more.  So come on out and enjoy the evening at the Pier located at 350 A1A Beach Blvd., in St. Augustine Beach.

The 1st annual Pups & Sups surf contest comes to St. Augustine Beach

Music By The Sea kicks off its 16 season at The St. Augustine Beach Pier Park

The 16th season of Music By The Sea, held by The St. Augustine Beach Civic Association begins on Wednesday, May 23rd at The St. Augustine Beach Pier Park.  This free event is held each Wednesday starting at 6:00 p.m. and runs through the month of September with weekly concerts and available food and beverages for purchase.

After being cancelled last week due to inclement weather, The Music By The Sea event will kick-off this week with the sounds of 80’s cover band Slang, and food sponsored and provided by Scooby Q BBQ.  The event will also use this Wednesday as an opportunity to support local artist and volunteer Paul Slava who has a new liver but still faces more challenges that include large medical bills. Money collected through beverage purchases will go to assist Paul with his expenses.

St. Augustine Beach renourishment project should be done by the end of June.

The St. Augustine Beach sand renourishment project taking place is scheduled to be completed by the end of June, just in time for the 4th of July holiday.  Work has been completed on the beach from Pope Road to the St. Augustine Beach Pier.  The project will continue to inch closer towards 9th street where the work will then be completed.  Check out the following article in The St. Augustine Record for more details by clicking HERE and view the following video.
